I often listen to Beyonce while working out…

and she was actually the inspiration for my hair and makeup in this blog post. While watching Beyonce’s old music video “video phone..” she rocked a look with a pulled back braided-ponytail, a harsh cat eye and a bold black lip.

I didn’t so much want to recreate but use it as inspiration for an outfit post.

I tried the braided ponytail but my hair length just didn’t look as fab. So instead, I looped the braid and turned it into a funky bun. I kept the bold black lip, but lessened the harsh cat eye for more of an everyday look.

Then I created an outfit to go with it…

The top either had to have a high neck line or a low one.

I prefer those necklines with a tightly pulled back hairstyle.

I decided on this rose sweater that has a lower neckline, and paired it with a plunging necklace.

Since the sweater is slightly cropped, I needed to pair it with a high-waist pant or skirt.

I choose this skirt because the white would pair well with the dark makeup.

As the shape of this outfit was turning out to be rather curvy, I wanted a fairly high heel to elongate my figure.

And that is how I styled a look that started from my makeup down to my shoes.
