Style Adventure: Elora

This has got to be the cutest town that me and the man have ever traveled to. We have been here before, but we have never explored the town itself just the conservatories within. But at the centre of the town is a historic district off the water and I must have said “omg this place is so cute” more than 10 times.

I researched a few places that I wanted to check out that were photograph worthy and we headed out a couple hours before dusk. I used to prefer shooting as the first thing to do during the day…but the sunlight is just not ideal at that time. I’m slowly learning…

Outfit Number 1 – Golden Romper Delight

This romper is thrifted. Block heels are call it spring.

I actually planned this location because of the stoned stairwell behind me in this photograph but they had it locked off. Oh well…they had pretty gardens surrounding and the beautiful Elora Gorge

My man picked out this backdrop for a portrait shot. It really turned out well. Perfect to show off the details of this outfit and my makeup!

Outfit 2 – Courthouse Belle

I have had this dress for so long. I continue to breathe new life into the dress with different styling and accessories. This ribbon belt and polka dot heels really make this dress pop!

By our second location, the Golden hour was starting and it was absolutely beautiful.

The third location was within the downtown core of Elora. The man Street was blocked off to vehicles and people on patios took over the streets. Everyone was unbelievably friendly and more than a few people stopped to say hello to our pup.

However we didn’t stop for anything to eat, we just took in the splendor of this quaint town. There was a location called seven doors that brought me there.

Outfit 3 – Bubblegum Cuteness

This is actually a dress layered under a polka dot baby doll skirt. My hips are much to thick now for the dress, so instead I wear it as a shirt! The skirt is thrifted and the heels were actually my grandmothers. She didn’t want them anymore…one of the benefits of having the same size feet!

Seven doors isn’t actually tagged or listed on Google so I wasnt sure how I was going to find it…but we were walking along taking everything in and I pointed out this cute building with flowers…that just so happened to be right beside the seven doors. Haha

The whole main area on Metcalf Street was adorable and cuteness overload.

What is your favourite outfit of the three?!

Style Adventure: Terre Bleu

If you read my last post, you know I was completely disappointed about a sunflower field. But guess what there is also a really well organized Lavender field in the Greater Toronto Area. So I styled an outfit to explore this farm!

July Favourites

Another Month has come and gone.

I hadn’t done any shopping in such a long time with so many recent large purchases in our household.

As such I’ve had to get very creative not to repeat any outfits.

I’m not going to lie- its getting more and more difficult.

A couple times this month I’ve left the house in an outfit I just wasn’t quite happy with.

I guess it was a hit and miss month.

Cause I absolutely adore these July fits.

Can I just say this whole outfit minus the belt and tights are from goodwill. #mindblown

I picked this skirt up in June. I absolutely adore it. It gives my work fits a baby doll feel.

This outfit has my favourite colour combination purple and blue.

Paired with the low bun and curls- I feel like it has a spanish feel.

Especially with the curvy silhouette showcased.

I felt sexy in this outfit!

Professional, cute, and girly- the perfect work fit!

The long curls with the lace and flirty skirt- all scream very girly.

The cherry on top is the peep toe heel.

Which is your favourite?

Shorts to the Office

As a lady you get to have a little more flexibility in the office compared to men.

As we wear skirts and dresses to the office; it isn’t abnormal to show a little leg at the office. Thus shorts are no different.

But be sure to wear the correct style!

The correct style is:

1. Material

Just as a jean pants or skirt is unacceptable, so are jean shorts.

Go for a Trouser or Bermuda short material

Example: H&M Bermuda Short

2. Length

The short should fall between 3/4 to knee length

knee length short 34 knee short

Although a mid-thigh short can look incredibly chic.

Not for the office, my friends. Not for the office.

Save that outfit for an out of office chic look.

Here are some examples of how I styled shorts for the office to get your creative-styling-juices flowing!

Although I like to offset the skin showing on my legs with a long sleeve.

On one of Toronto’s hottest days I also styled shorts without sleeves.

If you still feel uneasy wearing shorts to work.

It is a great idea for those casual fridays- mix it up!

Who says you have to sweat those summer days?

Be the epitome of cool success in a chic short outfit.
